Director of Public Relations

Nicholas is a 17-year-old Junior at John Paul II High school in Plano, Texas, where he is vice president of the Model UN club. He is a first-generation American, whose parents were both born in Cali, Colombia. Prior to joining Impacktive, his history of social outreach in his community includes being a Spanish translator at 7 Loaves Food Pantry(The Storehouse of Collin County) and animal assistant at Operation Kindness, a no-kill animal shelter.

The reason I decided to join the impacktive team stems from my first visit to my parent’s hometown in Colombia. I was shocked to see the conditions some people live in there; especially the way some children are treated there. It was no surprise when did I research upon returning home and uncovered that Colombia was one of the top ranking countries in the world for child tracking and the children most at risk were those in the foster care system. I attribute this to be the moment I knew I had to do something to help the children. I had a moment of rude awakening when I first heard about the dehumanizing way the children are asked to store their belongings; I didn’t realize that the conditions I was so astounded by in Colombia were so prevalent in my own backyard. I am so glad to have found a place here at Impacktive were I can make a meaningful change in my Community. 214-554-3730
